1. Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver, Western Canada.

A magical place to celebrate my older son’s birthday: Kitsilano is easily accessible by public transport and offers a playground, café and plenty of free beach space to run around and enjoy.
2. Family birthday reunion in Canada!

What a get-together: we celebrate Liam’s birthday as part of our trip around the world together with my parents, who have on the occasion travelled all the way from Austria!
3. Exploring Nanaimo in Vancouver Island with the new fast ferry Hullo.
4. Visiting Whistler, one of the most famous places in the Canadian Rockies!

Watching downhill bikers, taking the mountain railway, hiking and exploring the First Nations Cultural Centre with our friends from Vancouver: Whistler also has a lot to offer during the summer months.
5. Tasting our way around Kelowna in the Okanagan Wine Valley.

On a wine tour with my dad: I have already written about my first winesome discoveries of the Okanagan Valley here.
6. Hiking by the world famous Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies.
7. Peyto Lake mit seiner einzigartigen, tiefblauen Farbe.

World travel pic of the four of us at Peyto Lake between Banff and Jasper in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
8. Back in Banff!

I’ve last stood here when he was still in my tummy. So nice to return to Banff with Liam as a now six-year-old!
9. Spotting a hungry bear by Lake Minnewanka.

Fortunately only seen from our slow-moving campervan: A still slim bear looking for food at the beginning of summer.
10. Gazing at Niagara Falls south of Toronto.

They are among the largest waterfalls in the world: Niagara Falls, around two hours south of Toronto, on the border with the USA. Another absolutely magical place on our trip!
Just a heads up: I’ll soon be sharing more travel posts, photos and information on all the destinations mentioned above (and more!) – stay tuned 🙂
