Hiking / Trekking
I discovered hiking (from longer walks to multi-day treks) quite late in life, during my round the world trip to New Zealand. Some of the most beautiful places there can ONLY be reached thanks to multi-day hiking tours. Ever since that sort of initiation, I have become hooked and enjoy the kind of thoughts and spirit that only come when walking one step at a time. This includes several pilgrim routes and multi-day hikes, which I have already written about here.
