“Finding truffles in a city like Graz?” My new travel video has answers to this rather intriguing question, answers that have led to nothing less than the creation of the international, annual Graz Truffle Festival, a festival I’ve already visited last year in October.
About five years ago, the first truffles were found in the city forests of Graz. Since then, the Waldschule Graz in cooperation with the city of Graz has come to offer guided truffle walks in the Leechwald city forest in Graz during the autumn truffle season. On these walks, you’ll get to follow a specially trained truffle dog digging up truffles from the ground, followed by a pasta dish with those very grated truffles the dog just found! It is a truly unique travel experience.

My video also informs you about the International Truffle Market Graz in the enchanting ambience of the Paradeishof in Graz (inner courtyard). This market is only a few minutes’ walk from the Rathausplatz main square in Graz. It is completely free to access and open to the public. Numerous partner businesses in the Graz “Capital of Delights” also offer Graz truffles in special truffle menus.

Tip: If you want to get rid of all those extra calories while you’re still in Graz, I recommend taking one or two guided walking tours. What I’ve particularly enjoyed are the tours south of the river Mur districts, Lend and Gries. If you’re a foodie, street art lover or history buff, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth there.
